Costa Rica

Welcome to Costa Rica!
Bienvenidos a Costa Rica!

Costa Rica is another country in Central America, but some things are said to be different from its neighbors. For example, over 96% of electricity is generated from renewable energies. We wouldn’t have expected this from any country in Central America! Costa Rica also does not have its own military and invests the freed-up budget in culture and education. As this country is closer to the equator, it also has no seasons and has more or less the same day-night rhythm every day. And finally, an interesting fact about the inhabitants. In Costa Rica, people call themselves Ticos and Ticas. We’re not so familiar with the connection to the country’s name, but it’s really true!

Off we go to a Central American country that does things differently compared to its neighbors. An exciting country with interesting people and the motto “pura vida” – pure life – awaits us in Costa Rica!

About us

We are Paddy and Mimi, a travel-hungry couple from tiny Switzerland in the middle of Europe. We call ourselves slow travelers, because we like to spend enough time in one place or country. Therefore we don’t only visit the typical sights but also get to know the culture of the respective country.
