Honduras is certainly one of the lesser-known countries in Central America. We follow in the footsteps of the first European in Honduras: Christoph Kolumbus and take a closer look at this country. What effect will this former part of Guatemala have on us? Surely the Caribbean islands of Honduras will win us over. But we are not quite sure, as the term banana republic was originally coined in connection with Honduras. Honduras is currently the second largest banana exporter in the world.

We are Paddy and Mimi, a travel-hungry couple from tiny Switzerland in the middle of Europe. We call ourselves slow travelers, because we like to spend enough time in one place or country. Therefore we don’t only visit the typical sights but also get to know the culture of the respective country.
