Panama

Welcome to Panama!
Bienvenidos a Panama!

The whole world is connected to Panama by an important trade route: the Panama Canal. This canal is of course on our list of places to visit, anyone spending a little time in Panama should definitely take a look at this world-famous trade canal. We are already looking forward to it! Panama has two independence days and is therefore probably one of the most “independent” countries in the world – at least if we look at the public holidays. And finally, something less well known: Panama has over 1600 islands, we definitely didn’t know that before our trip either. Maybe we’ll have the opportunity to go on an island trip in Panama – who knows.

So off we go, to a Central American country with charisma all over the world!

Panama – a whole country

Panama – a whole country

After the great but expensive experiences in Costa Rica, we come to the last country in Central America: Panama. There would be a lot to see, many sights that will involve nature are a little overshadowed by the experiences in Costa Rica, as the wildlife there can be...

What would a visit to Panama be without visiting the world-famous Panama Canal? There are three lock systems that can be visited. The two large locks Miraflores and Gatún and the third, smaller lock Pedro Miguel. We opt for the most touristy place with the visitor...

About us

We are Paddy and Mimi, a travel-hungry couple from tiny Switzerland in the middle of Europe. We call ourselves slow travelers, because we like to spend enough time in one place or country. Therefore we don’t only visit the typical sights but also get to know the culture of the respective country.

Our current location:

Puerto Iguazú, Argentina

Ushuaia

Ushuaia

We arrive in Ushuaia on the only major north-south connecting road. One more bend, and then the entrance gate with the exotic-sounding sequence of letters “Ushuaia” stands before us. We are excited to see the southernmost city in Argentina. At the same time, however,...

Tierra del Fuego

From the southernmost mainland of South America, we can drive a few kilometers further south with our campervan Ben. Not that far compared to the length of the entire continent of South America, but still a few hundred kilometers. From Punta Arenas, a ferry takes us...

Bolivia comes up with the next somewhat controversial item on the program. We drive our campervan Ben to Potosí, the historic silver capital of the world. We want to learn about the history of silver in connection with Potosí. Not only can we visit a museum, but we...

Pantanal

Next on our South America trip we visit a beautiful region with an extremely dense wildlife: The Pantanal in Brazil. The name sounds spectacular and exotic to us but translated from Portuguese it just means swamp or swamp region, derived from pântano. It is the...
